Heart-Popping Blues

To get the full effect, imagine that I am a blues singer and that I am
being backed up (in parentheses) by the Blues Prophets.

I fell in love
With Lisa Moore     (da Da da dump)

My heart popped out
Upon the floor     (da Da da dump)

      My knees grew weak
I had to sit     (da DaDa da dump)

I couldn't breathe
Not even a bit     (da Da da dump)

I fell in love from my hat to my shoes
      When she sang, a cappella,
            Those lost mitten January blues!

(da da da   da da da  Da Da Da   DA DA DA   DUMP   Da daaaa)

All right I didn't fall in love
With Lisa Moore     (da Da da dump)

And my heart didn't really
Pop out on the floor     (da Da da dump)

      I exaggerated
Perhaps just a bit     (da DaDa da dump)

About weak knees
And having to sit     (da Da da dump)

What I fell for, hard and unrequiting,
      Was not Lisa Moore
            But Lisa Moore's writing.

(da da da   da da da  Da Da Da   DA DA DA   DUMP   Da daAaAaAa)
